Adventures in Bertie - No1

Good afternoon

Such a lovely day here - not - its wet & windy and I've just had to go into town on a post run :( So I decided to make a cuppa and sit down and blog rather than chase around with a hoover & duster!!

We've done our first weekend in away in Bertie :)

We headed up the road just into Norfolk to a campsite we've stayed at many times before - better the devil you know when there's a new toy to test.

Apart from it being a bit windy and chilly Friday evening we have been very lucky with the weather. Even the cold didn't matter - we had electric and a heater!

Saturday morning dawned sun & bright and after a leisurely breakfast we headed out for the day. A long walk along the beach, lunch out and a playing in arcades - everyone was happy.

It was warm enough for a proper ice-cream;

We spent the evening happily watching the wildlife and other campers trying to put up new tents!

Of course a glass or 2 of wine was needed;

And then when it started to get dark - time for bed. Bertie's beds met with approval from all - very comfy. Never have I slept so well on a camping trip;

As you can see - like at home - the bed never gets properly made!!

It didn't even take long to get unpacked last night. Just a shame the weather means I am struggling to get things dried indoors (again).

See you soon

Sounds despite the cruddy weather you have all had a great weekend away. Glad your new toy is as fantastic as you wanted him to be!

Here's to many other trips!

Hi Vicki, so glad things went well. I'm lapping up all caravan posts at the moment and hoping next year we might be able to join in with all the fun.

Glad I'm not alone in the blogging versus dusting dilema!! Looks like you had a great weekend, pleased you had the sun - it's well and truly disappeared here today, washing is on the line wetter than when I put it out! :o)

It didn't rain? Not fair! The maiden voyage looked lovely, the caravan looks so cosy and homely! Here's to a warmer summer. x

Glad you had a good time - and injury free 1st trip - unlike me! What a lovely big awning too...I would love to go to Norfolk (Holkham I fancy) next summer.

ah fun in the caravan, and an awning is great for the extra space and to dry wet gear lol x

I have to say that I am disappointed by the lack of bunting adorning the awning! Better fix that before your next trip ;)

I'm so pleased you had such a good first trip! Sound like you were lucky with the weather! It's poured here all weekend, week, month....lol

My eldest has her last GCSE tomorrow! Then off until the end of June when they go in for a day, and that night it the prom too!!

Lordy, doesn't time fly!

Have a great week my lovely, and take care. xx
