He's leaving home........

Can you spot the reflection? Good job I'd got dressed properly!!

but only until Friday! Little son headed off on a school activity holiday this morning. The house seems so quiet without him - it will be even stranger when he's not here @ breakfast tomorrow - big son will miss all the little things he does for him. I shall miss his cheeky grin and his huge hugs. His bedroom shall by Friday be missing lots of dust bunnies, cobwebs and scraps of screwed up paper ;)

Good evening

How was your weekend?? What a mix bag here - started great. Little Son & MrVV had their first brass engagement of 2011. They headed off to play for the opening of the town museum. This happens every year but this is the first time that LS has played. He was rather chuffed to be playing with his Dad and even more pleased when the band nipped into the pub after they'd finished playing!!

My brass players together

Most of the band - I couldn't fit them all in there were so many of them on Saturday!

Close up of the Euphonium section - Little Son has been warned that playing with your Euphonium may cause baldness!!

Saturday afternoon, I wasn't feel great - a heavy dose of hayfever I think. However, I felt well enough to sneeze my way around Woodbridge with Dawn. We of course had to visit all the charity shops and I managed to add to my Ladybird collection. I also picked up a couple of books I've already got - I know there are some other bloggers who collect these books so if anyone would like a copy of Elves & the Shoemaker or the Gingerbread Boy, let me know. These aren't perfect (some writing on the first page of each) nor are they first additions - however they aren't ripped and the spines are in reasonable nick.

The Junk Style & Eco-Shopper books I've been meaning to show for ages - both CS finds and rather good reads. The other 4 were all Saturdays finds - am loving the Peter & Jane book - I learnt to read using these and so did both boys.

Yesterday as it was Mothering Sunday, I got to choose what we did. So first thing in the morning 3 of us headed off to a car boot sale (big son called whilst we were there - he'd woken up and wondered where we were!!). There weren't many stalls and rather a lot of those that were there were traders with overpriced and quite honestly tatty rubbish. However a few stalls were being manned by proper booters and I struck lucky on one - a whole bag of misc. sewing/knitting bits for just £1.00 Several bits were rather manky and the needles are just odd ones now destined to be plant support sticks - however I think I definitely got a £1.00's worth. Little son was happy, he found a DVD of a film we'd missed at the cinema last summer.

In the afternoon we headed out for a walk at Aldeburgh. MrVV has a new camera he wanted to play around with and Little son has gained his old one and was more than happy to join us. Big son? you've guessed it - he stayed at home *rolls eyes*. However he was happy to join us later on as we headed out for a carvery dinner - funny how he appears when food is involved!!

Don't forget my giveaway - I've added a couple more little things and if anyone wants the Ladybird books, let me know.

See you soon

Wow bandsmen! I love silver and brass bands. The local church fete always has a silver band performing throughout. So typical of England and afternoon teas and Miss Marple, though we also come across them in 'our' part of holiday Normandy.

And Oo-er - Ladybird books! I am collecting them for my Aussie grandchildren and already have The Gingerbread Boy so would love The Elves and The Shoemaker if it's still available. Happy to pay postage to our UK address.

Love the pic of Little son and Mr VV. They look so smart and MrVV looks like a very proud father.

The Elves and the shoemaker! OMG! I remember reading that as a child. Way too many years ago to admit to. Glad you got something from the Car Boot Sale.

I remember having the elves and the shoemaker book when I was little, had loads of the ladybird books. I got that eco book out the library, was a good read. Really makes you think about a lot of things - quite eye opening! The junk style book looks interesting. Sal x

Loving the pics of your band boys ;)

My Mum gave me a heap of mine and her old ladybird books to sell last summer - they are now living on my bookshelf as I just couldn't part with them. lol
