Oh well - so it's changed again!!

Good morning

This wasn't what I'd hoped my next post would be about. I'd wanted to tell you I'd had my op and I was home getting better. Instead I am at home but no Op has taken place!!

I got to the hospital yesterday at midday as planned - I was admitted to the ward at 2pm and then I waited and waited. My BP started to rocket due to the stress. I called P who works in town and he came over and sat with me to take my mind off stuff. At 4.30pm a nurse appeared in my room with a sheepish look on her face. I knew what she was going to say before she spoke. Due to over-running previous ops mine had been bumped off the list :( So after almost 5 hours at the hospital and 10 hours without food or drink I was on my way home still with my dicky gallbladder inside me :(

Cross is an understatement - so much planning had taken place to ensure I had got people to look after me whilst I recover. Friends/family had taken time off work to help out and having my Op yesterday meant I wouldn't miss much other stuff in my life that I want to do - sadly this now means I will miss things I was looking forward too.

I've spoken to the hospital this morning - a new date has been arranged and this time I am first on the list - however its 3 weeks away and it clashes rather with things I had wanted to do and also getting sorted for my move. Luckily P and I are getting on well so we are going to work together to make sure things happen as smoothly as possible.

I might have kicked several cushions today and ripped up the odd newspaper!!!

And now for something lovely - my garden always looks at its best in June - so whilst trying to calm down after this mornings call, I wandered around with my Ipad and took some photos which have of course already appeared on Instagram (I do love that place rather a lot these days);

Oh btw I've added a new widget to my sidebar - I wanted to see where my blog visitors were visiting from - its not entirely accurate but it is interesting - lots of UK (seems there are plenty of readers in Suffolk) and US visitors. Does seem that Sid the grass snake is still bringing in people - ever hopeful he will appear again soon - just need some long hot sunny days!!

See you soon

Oh Vicki, what a bother not to have your operation go ahead on the scheduled day. I do hope the next planned operation goes smoothly with no hiccups on the day.
Sorry to hear you will miss out on some fun because of the delay too. NOT FAIR! :(

What a pain after all the organising of everything, as well as the worst bit,the nerve-racking waiting for nothing.
Fingers crossed for you for next time.
Your garden is looking beautiful!

what a b****r, fingers crossed for 3 weeks and all going well. The thing which shows where people come from who are visiting your blog is a bit out. It says I'm from Halesworth but I'm only 2 and a bit miles away from you ( wouldn't want to live in halesworth - strange little town!)

You must have been well and truly hacked off!! So frustrating when things like that happen.

How galling, sorry no pun intended! That is awful after making all your arrangements and psyching yourself up for it. Luckily for both my ops I was first on the list in the morning, so you know they're not going to get behind and you have less time to worry.
3 weeks probably seems ages away, but it'll be here before you know it.

How frustrating! I feel your pain, I'd spent a night in hospital and was actually with the anaesthetist before my first hip replaceable when the surgeon rushed it and put a stop to proceedings as he'd forgotten to order the right size joint!
Here's to the next time! xxx

That really does stink! I'd be furious too.
It'll be a wonderful relief to have it all behind you so that you cna forget about it.
I lost lots of weight before having my gall bladder removed and swore I'd keep it off but the greed in me took over once a nurse told me I could eat anything again and I'm back to being pre-op weight again. Be careful, hopefully you have far more willpower than I do.
Try to stay calm, easier said than done I know!

It's awful when you get yourself geared up for stuff like this and then it doesn't happen, hopefully things will get sorted soon. Keep your chin up Sweetheart! :) x

How frustrating. Like you, I would have been as wound up as you were. I hope the next 3 weeks aren't too uncomfortable for you. xx

So very frustrating about the op, I had the exact same thing when I had my hysterectomy a few years ago. It is so annoying when so much has to be arranged and then re-arranged.
Take care in the meantime and enjoy smelling the roses and any other pretty flowers in the garden.

how annoying. I often wonder if hospitals understand how much effort it has taken to get there and how much worry and stress builds up. Hope things go better next time.
