Belated Happy New Year

Good afternoon

A belated Happy New Year to you all. I meant to post yesterday but (1) ran out of time and (2) hadn't taken any photos!! Plus I got up late, got times wrong and we were in a rush to go from a lunchtime drinks party to a New Years Day family buffet tea!

Anyhow - am here now - better late than never ;). Can't believe its January - we've been out for a family walk today to Southwold and it was so warm and sunny;

I'm getting so much better at this walking lark - stamina is much improved - we just need to work on my speed now - so much of the time, this was my view;

Menfolk strolling off ahead and then stopping and waiting for me to catch them up!

Can I ask you all a question? Did anyone else get the Cath Kidston crochet tin set? I've started to make mine up and I've run out of yarn before I've finished. I've not enough to do the last 3 rounds of the back of the cushion. I could match with yarn I have here but I wondered if its a design fault in general? I was very frugal with the ends and wastage as I've made each square up.

I've also completed my first make of 2012 - I'll share that later in the month when I take part in the Monthly Make posts for 2012 (links in my sidebar).

Don't forget my PIF - again, link in the sidebar.

See you soon.

Happy New Year to you too, Vicki! Creative already... I have to say I've given it a rest since Christmas. THanks for your comment - I got hungry about half-way through my post too! But with the five boys all here, there as plenty of food spread out on the table for me to tuck into.

Crochet is one of the things I am going to try this year. Love yours, what a shame there's wasn't enough wool.

Yes, I got the CK crochet tin too and, funnily enough, immediately thought there didn't look to be enough yarn for both sides of the cushion. Bit naughty isn't it?

Happy New Year!
I got that tin too, it's a shame that there is not enough. I would probably just do the last few rounds in white it will look fine!

I'd mention the yarn shortage to CK if I were you - they might send you a little something to compensate!

Lovely Southwold, although when we're in your part of the world it's Walberswick we head for first. Glad to see you are getting out and about properly now, I'm sure you'll be whizzing about soon :D

Happy New Year Vicki!

Happy New Year!!! How lovely you are out and about WALKING. It must be wonderful after all those long months of being stuck inside.
How annoying to not have been supplied with enough yarn to complete your project. It seems like a very popular gift this Christmas, so there will be many people not happy with the yarn shortage. I hope they give you some more.
Have a lovely day,
Anne xx

I'd e-mail them as well. Maybe there was a faulty batch or something?
Love the 'drinks party' idea, very civilised! Happy New Year!

How annoying not having enough yarn. The idea of drinks on New Year's day sounds very appealing. Glad to see you are improving with walking and getting out and about.
A make completed already is very impressive!

Oh Southwold...Walberswich....Aldbrugh... I'm coming next weekend! Hooray! CK has messed up there haven't they... they should have allowed extra to allow for everyone's different styles and tensions I think... I bet they would send you extra if you ask them... :)x
