Learning new tricks :)

Good evening

So far this week, I've been learning new things;

A new muffin recipe - blueberry - very scrummy;
I have a new camera - Pentax Optio E90;
So have been getting to grips with all the buttons and options;

Quite a good macro on there - handy when everything comes into bloom later this month;

It can also put pretty borders around the pictures;

When we where shopping at the weekend, I treated myself to a rotary cutter - one of my sisters has given me a small cutting mat - I have been getting used to using this. I guess it means more bunting for the summerhouse!!

When I was at the vintage fair last month, I bought this dress;
Decided I really likes the style and that I'd have a go at making one myself. First I needed to create the pattern - a task which involved lots of measuring and complicated maths!!
A few hours later - a little swearing and cursing and ta-dah - a new dress for me;
Fits great and I'm really chuffed with it - even MrVV likes it. Good job as I shall be getting some more fabric on Thursday to make another!!

See you soon

Well done on the dress, it's a beauty and the gathering and the pockets look really good! There's nothing quite like finishing a project that you can wear! I have yet to acheive muffins that look as neat as that, mine always have half the mixture spilled down the sides!

Such a good idea to take the pattern from a dress you already love. And the farm just up the road from us sells blueberries - I can't wait!

Clever you - making a very pretty dress from your own pattern, doing digital things with your flash new camera AND cooking perfectly turned out muffins. I used to be able to sew and bake - what happened? ( The kids left home!)

Good for you getting in there and making your dress. Hope the sun comes back so you can wear it again soon.

I won't be at Woodbridge this weekend - I love doing it, but I need a rest as been too manic with fairs of late.

Happy shopping if you go.
