2nd Pause in Advent - 2010

Hello

Welcome to my 2nd pause in Advent for 2010.

My theme this week is Thinking.

I wrote a post last advent about how I was thinking about a young friend who was very ill in hospital. Well there was good news - he was well enough to come home for Christmas Day and permanently in the new year. He has had a much better 2010 and has been able to attend school for most of the year.

At the moment I am thinking lots about my FIL who is unwell and in hospital. At the moment we are hoping he will be able to come home for christmas. He is unable to move back to his current home so over the next few weeks we shall be helping MIL move 40 years of life from one large house into a smaller more manageable bungalow not too far from us.

Lastly for this post, just one pause to remember all those who won't be with us this christmas.

Thanks for that good news, Vicki, and for your family news too. Thinking of other people is both harder at this time of year yet more important - thanks for the reminder.

Hope your FIL manages to spend Christmas at home and moving house goes well for them both.

My mother passed away two years ago and absolutely adored christmas, so on Christmas day I will be raising a glass in her memory and adding her special treasured decorations to the christmas tree...........precious memories of christmas's past.

That's good news and a perfect reminder to us all to stop and think at this time of year ... of those we've lost who won't see another Christmas and those we love who may be about to have their last one. x

What a blessing you are being to them and what wonderful family memories y'all are creating. It's not easy but it's well worthwhile. Praying for wisdom for you.

PS Very cute knitted gingerbread cottages! :)

I do hope your FIL will be well enough to leave hospital very soon.Hope it will not be too distressing for him when the time comes to move. It's good that you will be nearby.

Christmas is a time when we particularly feel the loss of our loved ones isn't it?
