Ta-Dah Tuesday

Afternoon

Just a quick post today - am linking up with Lakota's Ta-Dah! Tuesdays for a quick crochet blanket reveal;

Started last June (here) and worked on as when ever since - last night it was finally finished and it way dry enough outside just now for a quick photo!

90 squares and 6 rounds of double crochet edging later :)

Just the thought of all those ends I've sewn in makes me shudder!

See you soon

Wow Vicki it's absolutely gorgeous! I love the colours and the striped edging. Could I ask how much yarn you needed? Because I am desperate to make something similar (maybe a bit smaller, to be realistic!) and want to buy the wool first so I know I have enough, but have no clue about quantities. What kind of yarn did you use?

Also, please can you add the post to the linky by clicking 'add your link'. I think people will miss it in the comments and it deserves to be seen!

Hi Vicki
OOh that blanket is gorgeous - can I put an order in for 3 please ;) I have an old one my Nana crocheted in the 1950s but its joined in black and not sure it looks right in the caravan (Chateau H) Can't wait to see what you do to the interior of your caravan!! I can't decide whether to make loose covers for the seating or embrace the kitsch! Happy cleaning and pottering, love Sally x

Vicky, that blanket is really special. I love it. We are moving in a few weeks and our new house has a finished basement that we will be turning into a family room. I was thinking it will need some new blankets for snuggling. It gets COLD here. I love what you made and the colors you used. You have inspired me to make something very similar for our new home. Great job. Enjoy that new caravan.

That is so adorable! And reading your thoughts about the work that has gone into it makes me really appreciate the vintage green and yellow one I picked up a few years ago. I feel bad haggling a low price for something that someone once laboured over! (But I still do it...)

Thanks a lot for your comment. The big bowl is truly vintage - made in China in the French style, and sold here in the 1950s. But the little, 'matching' bowl is last year's CK! I virtually booked an air ticket to the UK just to get the set. (OK, I had the ticket anyway...) Well, well worth it as I only have large vintage ones.

Hello Vicki
I am your newest follower :-)
I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing through your blog looking at and reading your posts this Sunday evening.
You say you have only recently learnt to crochet well this blanket is impressive...great combination of colours. I find large projects hard as they are finished in my mind before my hands finish them! Oh yes and the ends .....I know they are so tedious but I'll never give up crochet.
Amanda :-)
